In years past about every 2 weeks but this year I only have 1 camera setup and thats out in western part of Wisconsin.
So whenever I can get out there which is usually every other month then I will check it.
Around my area most of my spots are pretty small so I am going to stay out of them until I go hunt this fall.

Haven't check the cams since Saturday... And I'm losing sleep haha. I love the excitement to see what's gonna be on it... When there's nothing that always stinks haha.

I had to put a couple cameras in areas that get a lot of action deer, yotes and otherwise but we don't really hunt there-by the garden, just off the driveway and have a couple in pass through deer trails where they enter the property...just so I have a cam check every other day or so, so I can keep myself away from the really good spots for a week or more...I have one cam where I try to stay out of as long as possible and another I try to stay away for at least 10 days per card check. The ones out at camp go 3-4 weeks but if they were the only cams I had out I'd be there every 4-5 days - I wouldn't be able to stand it otherwise....as of right now I have 10 homebrews and 6 commercial cameras out in the woods and try to limit myself to a regular every other day check 2 most recent home brews(basically still testing for best settings) and rotate the checks on the others every 4-5 days except the camp(3 cams) and the northwest mineral lick(1) and one camera on top the bluff been there a month(been to hot to climb up there when I have the time is only reason - am sure the card is full and has been for 2 weeks prob'ly). To be honest I am hopelessly addicted to gamecameras and camtrapping...like most of the guys here are addicted to thier bowhunting...maybe more.

We check them every Wednesday. If we miss a week we don't fret over to much. We have bears mess with the cams ever so often so that's why we check them.

Giving myself a reason to run out there this week...I didn't take my screw in steps when I went out last weekend, so I need to go back out and mount the camera higher on the tree to make it more difficult for thieves. Yeah, that's the ticket. ;)

It depends on the time of year for me. Right now I try to wait at least 5 days and I usually check cams between noon and 3 p.m. so I don't bump any deer. The longest I go without checking is 10 days. As the season approaches I become more cautious with my approach to pulling cards. I'll do my full scent control regimen as if I were going out to hunt. September-December ill pull cards usually once a week, or if the stand I'm hunting a particular day has a camera near it and I'm in the woods it'll get pulled too.

Well, I should have waited longer than a week. I went out at noon today, in the rain, to change my trailcam card. Kicked up both of the big bucks, who were hanging out in the bean field. Figured I might as well go change the mem card and put the camera up higher on the tree to keep it out of hands of thieves. The bucks weren't on the card, but I got some good pics of a doe and fawn. Got back to my car only to find a fawn standing about 15 feet away from the car. At noon. Sheesh. I figure since I kicked up the bucks I'll now have to wait about a month to check the cam again in hopes of getting their pics now. They've grown a lot since my last pics at the end of May before the old camera kicked the bucket. I was really hoping to get a pic of the freak, but at least I saw him in the bean field. Wish I'd had the binoculars to get a closer look. Really hope I haven't scared them out of there for too long.

Usually once a week this time of year but once it starts getting closer to season I might wait 2 or 3 but it's hard since all it takes is a simple fourwheeler ride 400 yards from the house to the camera....I start getting edgy for pics after its been out a week
