DO you always keep your stands in the same spot?
How long do you give yourself if you dont see any deer?
    Weeks, months etc...

    Thanks

Have some protables that have been in the same trees for years, and see stuff in them every year. There are a couple of trails to bedding areas that are used every year it seems. Don't move my protables as much anymore because most of the time I'm moving around so much with the climbers that I'm seldom in the same tree more that twice.

It's really personal preference. There are two factors that play into these situations...

A)When a new stand is put up it could take awhile for the animals to get used to it being there, and it might take a few weeks for them to as active as normal in that particular area
B)There may just not be much action in that area, ever. However, careful watching of different areas as hunting season rolls closer along with maybe putting out a few trail cams can often take away the time it takes to scout throughout the year. If you have pictures of deer and have scoped out an area, you can usually pick out a good place to put a stand where deer often move through

I'd say wait it out another sit. You never know if that crusher buck you've been waiting for will step out next time you sit

id say beginning of the season you can stick with a stand longer and see if it produces because you really do not want to be moving stands that often during the season unless they r climbers but on the other hand as the season winds down you gotta do what you gotta do so if moving a stand from an area there wasnt producing, im all for it!!!!
