several times a week, especially in the spring/summer The majority of fresh, freshwater fish (bass, bream, saculait, etc) get fried, although I will broil a large bass filet with lemon and herbs on occasion. Almost all fresh saltwater fish is grilled. Redfish, tuna, snapper, all are just awesome.
I love salmon. I have two methods to cook it that come out pretty good I think. I start both with a 1lb filet. The first is just ginger terriyaky sauce I can buy here locally. Throw in a casserole pan, cover the top with the sauce, bake 30-35 minutes or until done. Secone I start with the same filet. I then tak about 1 shot of Crown Royal and mix into what would equal about 3 shots of pure maple syrup. Mix this up as well as you can. Drizzle over the top of the salmon, then bake 30-35 minutes.
Sunfish, crappies, walleye, northern, perch- I fry them In grease coated In fry magic. I don't like them any other way then fried. I eat fish at least once a week. I do allot of fishing. Smoked fish Is also awesome- carp, sucker, northern, catfish, etc.
Baked, broiled, pan seared in olive oil or something I'd eat it every day almost. Yesterday I ate at Applebees, shrimp, fish etc. 2 days before that the RedLobster seafood thingy grilled, lobster and scampi. Tonight I'm heading for a local bar about 4 miles from the house for a broiled seafood platter. It has haddock, shrimp, scallop etc. It's a pig out. Comes on 2 platters. When I was healthy I did a lot of the cooking myself. I still broil real sea scallops and an occasional lobster tail or 2. I like steamed littleneck clams for a lunch or snack. I'll buy a 50 bag and eat them all. Sometimes I buy a couple smaller bags. 50 is too many.
Not nearly enough, I'd say few times a month. If I don't fry it, I will usually season it an throw it on the grill!!
This sounds like a great life!! I love seafood and Iowa does not lend itself to the best or freshest seafood on the planet as you might imagine. I can get some pretty good "fresh" salmon and we catch a lot of panfish. That's about as good as it gets.
Eat it as often as I can catch it, which is quite a bit... Not a fan of buying fish most of the time. Primarily due to the lack of what I would consider "fresh" fish available to me locally in our stores.... pan fish get fried (in Kentucky Colonel)or made into Ceviche, cats, bass, striper, etc typically get thrown on the grill or pan seared.
I eat fish 4+ nights a week. Always on the grill. Typically on a wood plank with a little bit of low sodium soy sauce and chipolte seasoning. I add that with some grilled onion, squash, and potato, over a bed of lettuce. It's really good and healthy I think lol.
We eat fish on average about 3-4 times a week. If I do it, it's some kind of Oriental style. My husband makes some delicious breaded, fried catfish. That's what happens to the catfish we catch.
One of my favorite hobbies is fishing walleye. One of my most detestable foods is walleye they all go back in the lake.
