I'm wondering how often you check your trail cameras? I just hung a couple of trail cameras last Friday and I'm wondering if it's too soon to go check them or not? I use to only check my cameras once a couple of months but the two I want to go check is in a new property I just got and want to see what kind of deer are on it

I like to wait two weeks. If I hang one in a new location, I'll check it after a week to make sure I'm getting solid pics, then go check it every two weeks.

Minimum 2 weeks if they are on edges easy to get to.
If they are in a core area in the woods every 2 months unless I am close by hunting then I'll check it

I try to leave them out at least a week before checking them. It all kinda depends on where they are. I try to setup most of my cams on existing atv trails on the property so I can just pull right up to it and not even have to get off the machine. I do most of my work on the property during the weekends so that's usually when I check cams. I have a cam or two that are back in some thick stuff that I'll let soak for 2 weeks to a month.
I'm a firm believer that the deer get used to regular activity so I don't worry to much if I get excited about a certain cam and only give it a couple days before checking. Every time I ride out back on my atv I usually run its a couple does that will let me get within 15 yards of them as I ride by. They just stand there and watch me go. I rode my riding mower out back last weekend to mow one of my smaller clover plots and a lone doe stood in the field as I mowed around here. I got within 10 yards at one point and she didn't even flinch.
