So i have found the sweet spot in my bush. just wondering, should i only hunt it once a week? And i have lots of land to hunt just this is where i see deer every time i sit. Thanks for the replies.
If you can get in and out without getting busted and deer don't bust you in the stand you can sit until you start seeing a decrease in deer activity. But always hunt it on a good wind.
It depends. There is a good chance they know you've been there based on the scent you've left behind. I usually don't like to hunt the same stand twice in a week, especially early in the season. But, as they say, you gotta strike while the iron is hot. That spot could go cold quickly.
It depends upon how careful you are about entering the stand. I wear rubber knee high boots with the pants tucked inside. I always carry a pair of small pruning shears. I use them to clip and move brush I encounter on the way in. I also wear a pair of freshly washed gloves. If I take a break on the way in, I avoid leaning against trees. Once at my tree, I scrape the leaves down to the dirt around the tree and lay my stand in the fresh dirt to assemble and climb. The aroma of the dirt helps to cover any scent that may be transferred from my equipment. All of that may be for nothing if you jump deer close to the stand on the way in. In that case I let it set for a week before I try and sneak back in.
