been shooting 70# on my PSE Brute x, arrows seemed to be a bit weak and the weight was getting to me, took 2 full turns out of the limbs, just wondering on average how much weight is 1 full turn ?
    thanks

I tweaked my Diamond Black Ice one full turn up and it added three pounds, went from 64 to 67#. However I would think that it would most likely vary among the different bow mfg's and their designs. Are you near a Cabelas or archery shop that could test it for you on a scale?

It does indeed vary from bow to bow. Very generally speaking, it will be 2-2.5 lbs for each full turn. Never back a limb bolt out more than 4 turns without checking the poundage on a scale first though.

Well, it was from the factory with 70# limbs. poundage wasn't checked beforehand though.

That's cool, thanks for letting me know. That's a good practical weight too. I actually got a little cocky about a month ago after a successful end to the season and gave mine another full turn, which technically should have put it right on 70 pounds, but it was too much for me. I could only shoot about 5 times when practicing and I was pretty shaky on the 4th & 5th shot. I know you get stronger, but I didn't think it was worth it to struggle like that. I thought hmmm, cold weather, sitting still for long periods at a time, bulky cloths, trying to draw stealth in a possible awkard position...this aint gonna work. I ended up backing it back off 3/4 and I may still go back down that last 1/4 too, back to where I was before at 67, but I want to shoot it some more before I do just in case.

Generally 60-70lb limbs max out at just under 72Lbs...

Before I bought mine I called PSE support and they mentioned with the Brute X, you're looking at about 1.5 lbs per full turn.

Really depends on the bow. Typically 2-4 pounds per full turn.
