my bow is currently set up at 65 lbs. with a 27" draw length. I can shoot pretty good groups but I am not as consistent as I would like to be. If I drop the weight down to 60 lbs am I going to see that much of a difference? My buddy dropped his down and he said it made a world of difference in how he shoots. just couroius as to what you all think. how much of a differnce will i feel on the pull if I drop it down 5 lbs?

Only one way for YOU to find out. Slap it to a scale, make sure you are at what you think you are now, and then drop it down to 60. If you don't notice a difference, then take it back up, nothing lost nothing gained. If you do notice a difference, leave it there and resight.

Depends on the bow and the shooter. Most bows see peak efficiency when at 70-80% up to the peak draw weight. The only way to know for sure is to lighten the pull and shoot. Most likely you'll see an improvement in form if the 65 lbs was too heavy.

make sure even if there isn't a difference in your groups, that the draw weight feels comfortable to you, meaning you can hold your bow with control!

Just remember, that in theory when you change your DW you are changing how stiff your arrow is acting (spine). So if your bow is in tune at your current DW that you should re-tune at your new DW.
