I feel like a slacker when it comes to news. There are times when I follow it closely (usually leading up to an election...including reading up on candidates), but most of the time, anymore, I just don't get much out of it. There's too much smoke and mirrors with all aspects of reporting, you never really know what to believe. I watch ZERO news on TV because it's a waste of time. All of my news is done through RSS (Feedly...check it out:D ), and I mostly read Reuters. I might read 5-10 minutes worth every couple of days a week, but a lot of weeks I won't watch or read a thing. I know I should stay informed, but it's hard to dedicate the time to reading about anything with substance. Instead, I spend more time reading about things I like. Most of my RSS feed is taken up with Tech news, Building Science, and Web/Graphic Design. These things are important and interesting to me, and frankly, much of the news in this world isn't. One side of me feels that as a citizen of this country, I need to stay informed, but at the same time, I seriously take very little enjoyment in staying informed. As bad as it sounds, it's the truth. Anyone else in a similar boat? How much news do you watch/read daily?
I have an hour drive to work. To work: First 30 minutes - BBC World News Last 30 minutes - ESPN (Mike and Mike) From work: Back and fourth between - BBC World news, ESPN (LeBatard) and Skyy sports (Soccer). Just depends on if there is any new news.
I scan through yahoo and cnn headlines every morning. Don't really rely on yahoo for great news but I do enjoy reading the comments section.
I visit the local news websites every day (roughly 3 websites). I rarely visit CNN anymore... Not sure why. I never watch the nightly news.
