Most post I see everyone hates a coyote. Here's a scenario for you, you shoot one and he runs off, do you care to look hard for him?
What if your arrow may still be in him?

I`ll try to find them, for the hide. I know a lot of people just leave them where they drop.

I don't save the hides so I'll look and if I find him close I have a looksee but other than that I don't bother much. Damn things are a nuisance and a pest.

The 1 I've shot I recovered and skinned out and got the hide tanned. If I shot another, I'd get it tanned as well. No sense in wasting the animal.

Regardless if you like the animal or not. You took this animals life, have enough respect for the animal to track it, find it and take it from the woods.

I'm not trying to be "Holier than thou," but in my humble opinion someone who shoots animals and just leaves them lay doesn't belong in the hunting woods. If the animal has mange, scabies or something like that. I surely understand, but who wouldn't want a beautiful coyote hide on their wall or make $15.00-$20.00?

Maybe it's just the way I was taught about nature, by my grandfather.. Waste not, want not.

When coyotes come in and kill your calves which is your lively hood you think differant about them. We shoot everyone we see and do nothing with them except use them as bait to kill more coyotes.

Don't get me wrong, we've had coyotes kill our calves, piglets and kids (baby goats) Trust me, I know your frustration. I certainly kill them, but I use them.

Whether it's to create a bait pile or not. You're using the animal.

I completely understand that they are fawn killing machines and I'm not negating that fact, but when people are just shooting and not looking for them is just sad. IMO

I would look for them. Got $20 for an average coyote last year. Didnt skin it or anything. If something can be used I would rather it used and not going to waste. I'm not always perfect in that regard, but try to approach the outdoors that way.

If I couldn't find it after awhile I wouldn't loose sleep over it.
