I was just wondering what you guys thought about this bear.
    Is it a young bear?
How much do you think it weighs?
Do you think it is a male or female?

    Thanks ya'll!

By the way this is about 50 yards from my house. The bear bow season starts on Sept 15th. Hopefully he will start showing up during daylight hours.

Looks like a sow with a fat ***. Not real tall or long. Probably go 260 live and 200 dressed. Give or take a few #.

One thing you gotta realize too is the shadow behind it from the flash on the camera makes it look bigger.

I agree on the sow but it's a big one! I'll go 320 live and 260 dressed.

Here is a bore over 500. That's all our scale goes up to. Look at the distance between the front and back legs are on the bore to your sow.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I was gonna guess it weighed around 300. I didn't know about wether it is a male or female.

That one male is freakin huge!

I woul say 250 - 300# with her fall weight. Here is a 200# spring sow that looks to have a similar head size...

Sows tend to have a longer, narrower face and head. Their legs tend to taper and they generally have a fatter ***...just like my....never mind. Boars tend to have a short snout and a fatter, rounder face. Their legs are more blocky and thick.

Definately a sow, head and nose are a dead give away...small front shoulders too... big fatty for sure, I'd say she's walking around near that 300 mark.. she's one fat girl!
