[IMG] here is a layout of my 40 acre property, one the left side I put in black a railroad track and that is my sanctuary, it is about 20 acres in size and I have not stepped foot in it since I last hinge cut the orange bedding area at the bottom of pic, the top two are on my list to do next year, they are about a half to an acre in size. The straight dotted arrow is where it drops off to bottom and is pretty steep, from what I have learned bucks love bedding right on ridges so they can play wind and escape if needed, my 3 black x's is where my 3 stands are and my clover plot is green patch in the middle, I have noticed my buck sightings on cam has gone way up since I designated the area a sanctuary, just wanted to know what other people do? My new winter rye plot is at bottom of pic. Scoot

I have a 13 acre CRP field full of tall grass that I use as sanctuary on my 55 acres. Only go in there if I have to do a tracking job.

I own 40 acres and I have left 20 acres as a sanctuary. It just worked out perfect for where I actually wanted to hunt. I've owned it for 7 years and have never stepped foot in it but two times. Once to retrieve a hog 5 years ago and the night before last walked in about 20 yards to retrieve a doe. It is completely off limits at all times. I have several deer that bed in there all the time.
