    2013 PSE Brutex rts 550.00
    Truglo 5 pin 55.00
    NAP QuickTime 360 45.00
    Truglo stab 20.00
    Wrist strap 10.00
    Try fire release 55.00
    Arrows probably 100.00 so far
    Broadheads about 140.00

Right at 1000.00 plus the sights and rests I bought and tried before I settled on what I have. Probably another 300.00 in that stuff. For what I've learned about bows in the process, I'd gladly pay every dime again.

Hoyt G3 with all the accessories probably over $1500 but I don't gun hunt all I care, about is Bowhunting. So buying the best archery equipment I can afford is my only vice!.All newer archery equipment will kill a deer. Practice and just enjoy our great sport.

For my primary bow, I have tried to use premium parts, but be as frugal as possible about it. I am only going to add up what I currently use, not all the bits and pieces that have been used along the way. :D

    Bow - Elite GT-500 - $550 used
    Sight - Spot Hogg Hogg-It - $150 used
Rest - QAD Ultra HD - $free (came with the bow)
    Stabilizer - Vendetta Enforcer 10" w/ 5" head - $110
    Stab QD - Doinker - $25
Release - Carter Big Kid - $80 (used)

Arrows - CX Blue Streak - $150 per dozen. I view these as a consumable. They get replaced every year or two just like a string.
Broadheads - Slick Trick Magnum - $90. I have 3 packs, one for practice and two for hunting.
Case - Plano AW - $120. This was an investment. I carry my bow in the back of the truck sometimes, and this keeps it well protected.

I'm at around 1300$ for mine, not including the wife's which is less but deff. needs to be added
I only bowhunt and that makes a differance I think. I have made do with a lot cheaper rigs but I have to make me happy.

Bow: 70LB Black PSE DNA Dream Season ($675)
    DL: 27"
    Poundage: 63lbs

    Bow accessories
    Strings: Strict 9 OD Green/Tan/Brown ($95)
    Quiver: Tightspot Quiver ($128)
    Stabilizer: NAP 8" Stabilizer ($25)
Arrow Rest: NAP Apache Dropaway Carbon ($77)
Sight: Boss Hogg 5 pin wrapped ($162)
Release: Boss Hogg Whipper Snapper ($85)
Color: Kolorfusion – Kryptek Highlander ($130) (ultimatefinishersinc.com – they strip and kolorfusion)
    Silencer: Cat Whiskers ($2.50)
PSE Kit: Black Slider($6) and Cable Slide($8)
Paracord Wrist Sling - colors to match the pattern ($15)
Grip/Logo: Custom made Yeti grips ($80)
Case: Plano Bone Collector All Weather Case TSA Approved ($89)
Arrows: Carbon Express Maxima Blue Streak 350 ($111) + Field Tips ($5)
    Glove: Protx Kevlar ($20)

    Total
    $1697

I didn't mean to spend this much as this is my first bow. Really should've bought a great gun. I forgot to take into account the custom strings, custom grips and expensive quiver. I only bought the quiver because I wanted to get it Kolorfusioned.

Atleast if I get a new bow, it'll basically be the price of the new bow + some minor accessories since the bulk of it is done. Wow oh wow though. I didn't realize how much I was spending until now. This doesn't include shipping to Afghanistan and back which will probably be $100. Also doesn't include hunting clothes or hunting equipment (camera, binos, range finder) I could've cut alot of corners and gone with some of the recommendations from my friend, but I just didn't want to. This would've probably been $2100-$2300 without the military discounts that the companies gave me. Im actually really amazed right now, I was targeting for $1,000.

I spend a few bucks on my bow and I can honestly say getting the job done is not my only criteria. For some sure..... and thats good. I get it!

I just put a new string and sight on my back up bow and it cost me 100 bucks for the string/cable set up and about 125 for the sights. I could probably got by another year or so on my old string and the other sight I have, worked. I killed deer with my back up before the changes for years. It got the job done.

When my bow is set up exactly like I like it, I am a very happy hunter. When it is not, I am still a very effective hunter. I just like to be happy while I'm being effective. I am amazed by the guys who spend 250 bucks yet have the money to make it easier on themselves or better and refuse to because just being adequate is good enough. If you only got 250 buck then by all means getthe best you can for 250 bucks and enjoy yourself.

In my book its not what you hunt with......Its that you hunt!

I had a bit over $1900 in my Element, rest, quiver, sight, release, arrows, broad heads and field points. I wasn't happy with the sight so I bought a Trophy Ridge React 1 pin and added to it I think was about $200 and have since bought another dozen arrows and also a new Carter RX2 release so I have upwards of $2700 in it with the case.

    2013 Carbon Element
    Hoyt Ultra-rest
    TR React-1 sight
    Hoyt Blue color kit
    Beman BC Arrows- 2 doz
    NAP Hellrazors 4 packs
    New Bow case
    Carter RX1 release
    Hoyt Quiver
