We all know guys don't usually partake in much of the wedding planning (or if they do, it's simply to offer an opinion that doesn't really matter in the end):D I have to say, I feel I've done quite a bit more than normal for this one. So far I have: Designed/Printed save the date magnets Picked the invitation design Built a stick bending jig for the center pieces Built a housing for the grass mat for seating cards Designed/Printed the Programs Laid out/Printed pictures for the wedding favor coasters Picked/Booked the Honeymoon Designed the hallway picture for the reception Created/Edited the Wedding Slideshow Booked the Photographer
Not nearly as much as you did. I did some licking and sticking on the invitations and i'm still finishing up "thank you's". Other than that, she had everything else planned. Kudo's to you though
Hmm. I'm hoping my wife doesn't see this thread....... I wrote a lot of checks, and booked the honeymoon stuff. Other than that, I showed up where/when I was told, and brought my stunning good looks for the cameras. It was tough.............:D
Made a list of who I wanted to invite, then made a second list of who I didn't want there. :D Other than that....all I did was show up.
Went well, it was a great day. By the way, I sent you a PM, not sure if you got your PM's working on the new software yet. Check out Rob's thread if you haven't figured out how to do that yet.
I got drug along to "help" pick out a place (even though my ideas were completly ignored) I booked the honeymoon I had to write 10 thank you cards (she wrote to other 100 or so:D) Other than that I showed up where and when I was suppose to
Sara & I did everything ourselves. My list is similar to yours. Risky though, I was printing our programs in my hotel room that morning.... it all came together in the end:D
Ya me too....double on the good looks part.:D Matt (MGH), not all of us are as cpu/photo accomplished as you, damn boy, you make us look bad.
I tried to help set up the reception area (it was a set up) They hand cuffed me to a light pole on main street and left me there for two hours
This reminds me of the thread about hunting time and your spouses. The way I see it, I'm set for the next 5-10 seasons:D
I started out trying to help her out with everything. It turns out she didn't like the way I was doing most things. So by the 1/2 way point of the planning I was essentially not doing anything. She enjoyed doing it so I didn't feel bad. Her famous quote was that it was, "Her day". It made me feel like I was just some dude that was showing up that was the supporting actor in a show.
That's funny Phillip:D I ask her to marry me, then I ask her if we could get married in the mountains in Febuary...she knows I like cold weather and not having an anniversary during any hunting season. She agreed and after that I agreed to write check after check...But man do I love her and my little girl.
I didn't do enough and I hear about it every now and then too. I also hear about me being drunk off my arse and grinding on my mother-in-law at the reception.
I'm getting married tomorrow and let's just say... My list (and expenses) is much larger than I thought it to be but... It's all good...
Congrats and best of luck Pat. I took the plunge just about 3 weeks ago. It's not as terrible as they say...........................................yet. :D
Wow Matt...I am going to say that she already has you whipped!! And she didn't even wait until after the wedding!! What did I do? I said...we are going on a honeymoon somewhere. I picked Negril...then I said lets just get married there. That worked. Wrote 1 check and called it a day!
