I just got in from doing some long distance glassing in a bean field that I will be hunting this fall. I saw a good looking bachelor group of bucks and one of them was sporting a HUGE rack.

I am pretty confident that this buck is already in the 140 class range (looked like a typical 10).

I am just wondering how much bigger he might get by the time he is done growing?

This is the largest rack I have ever seen this early in the year.

Wow!! I had no Idea they could be that big already. I'd bet he's going to be a dandy. Maybe all the big guys are of that size already, never really saw anything bigger then a 130" buck while In velvet and that's usually In early August when I see them.

It depends on his growth rate, I am no expert but i would think that he would just get some more tine length by the end of the summer.

nice, for me, i'd take him this year unless your land is unhunted by others or you don't believe he'll stick around for another season... can you guess his age??? if he's 3.5-4.5 this year i MIGHT wait one more season... everything I've read so far says that most racks peak at about 5.5, I'd want to have that sucker breeding on my land as much as possible...

There was a booner in this same woods last year (next door neighbor got a couple trail cam photos of it)...maybe it's the same buck?

This thread is :spam: without pics!!!! :D :D :D

JK cooter. I'd say the opporunity to put on another 15-20" wouldn't be out of the question. Could you tell what kind of bulbs he had on the ends of the tines?

Yeah I know Dubbya...I wish I had picks of him too. I was looking at him from about 350 yards through my binocs so it was hard to see that much detail on the tips of the tines. He had long beams, wide spread, big mass and good height (especially for this time of summer). He might be a 150 but I am trying to be conservative on my estimation. It dwarfed the other bucks and they were potential shooters as well.

All I know is the nice buck in my yard is REALLY growing fast right now. Didn't see him for about 4 days or so & he's added a G4, the start of a kicker, 1/2-3/4" on each tine and over an 1" wider. I'll have to put the cam back out before the apples are done & get a couple more pix before he disappears for good.
