I started bowhunting in 1983 when I turned 12 and got a 45# Bear recurve, I then got out of it in the late 80's when my mom got sick. I didn't get back into it until around 1995 with a Kmart bought Bear compound bow and I haven't looked back. Around 2006-2007 I went bow only and even sold my rifles.
1st year bow hunting. Did well with turkey in the spring so hoping the beginner's luck continues. I rifle hunted with my dad when I was in high school, years ago and did one turkey season 10 years ago before this. Having the time of my life and spending time with Dad can't be beaten!
Started bowhunting when I was 19, just turned 64 couple months ago. Had about 2 years that very litte hunting due to work obligations so guessing around 43 years of bowhunting..... Actually am spending more hours in a tree the past couple of years than I did when I was younger !!!!
This will be my 9th season and learning everyday, learned a lot the last 2 years being part of this site.
17 years here...can't believe how much I've learned in those years, and yet every year I glean a little more knowledge (through experience/discussion/forums/articles/hard knocks/etc). Sometimes it's just learning how to better apply some of the knowledge you already possess. Learning more each year is part of the joy and challenge of the journey. Yep, still learning!
30 years of bowhunting 50+ years of shooting recurves. Yes I continue to learn about bowhunting and shooting. To be stagnant would probably take the thrill out of it.
You'll never be done learning ! This will be my 38th year and 1 of my goals is still to learn something every time I go out .
45 years huntin in general, firearms and recurve. Whitetails for 35. This will be season 5 with a bow for whitetails. Last year was the first year of bow only. And yes you continue to learn all the time. Pete
