Hiw many of you guys use brush to break up your outline in a hang-on stand? If you do/have, tell about your technique for attaching it to your stand. I know some trees do not require it, but if you did?

I have 3 and 4 foot long zip ties that I use at times to place extra cover around my stand.

This is what I was planning to use as well Buckeye. Do you have any issues with them? I will be using the black ones that seem to hold up better for UV issues.

I do this all the time, specially while bear hunting. Twine string works awesome. You can connect the twine string and make It as long as you want. I've had twine In the same tree for over 3 years, It's more durable then I thought It would be.

Thanks for the idea Steve. Sounds like it may be just as easy to work with too.

    Anyone else?

I have used cedar branches or small oak branches that hold their leaves longer, secured with zip ties. I have also used very thin utlitly rope, but prefer zip ties.

I've never done this before but have read about it the guys before me seem to like doing, I've just never felt the need to but would give it a try if a setup needed more cover.

Yeah, I have this one fence row stand that I have deer on top of me as soon as they are in hearing/sight range. I am wanting a little more cover as all there is now is me hanging up there in camo. It has fooled them more than once, but I want to see if I can make them more comfortable.:D

I use these too. The 36" variety and I generally use cedar boughs if available. They last longer since there aren't any leaves to fall off and they give a bit of cover scent as well. They also don't have dried leaves that might rustle at the wrong time attracting unwanted attention.

I don't on portable stands since they are high enough...but I use zip ties and brush on our 15' and 16' ladder stands...sometimes I feel like I'm duck hunting I'll brush it up so good:)

Usually just use bungy cords. I got a tube of green ones from sams in all different sizes for like $15.

I have never done this but if I did I think I would by some ParaCord (better known as 5-50 cord) you can get it at a local Military Surplus store. You can get a 1000ft of it prety cheap and its good for a ton of things.
