I have not gotten any deer this year yet. Not a doe or buck. I have seen them just nothing has been in range.
Got slightly more time in the stand this year than most. Past on numerous does and small bucks in October (not in desperate need of meat right now and looking to build the herd a little). Last weekend was rifle opener and I only saw 3 does. VERY slow for our area. Shooting around us is generally steady all weekend. Saturday had a good 2 hour stretch that I didn't hear a single shot. Sunday only a handful of shots around us. I'm interested to see the harvest numbers from our gun season. BTW, I'm in Central WI.
Shot a doe during gun season (again). Have meat and will enjoy. Next year on the new land I bought I'm getting serious. It's time.
I did not see a deer the best two weekends of the year (Nov 5 and 12)....nothing yet. Worst season EVER.
well i'm hunting hard this weekend hoping to get something for the freezer but we shall see what happens any one else hunting this weekend
I was out for the opening of Missouri gun season... nothing. Even when another in my party shot a 6 pointer first thing on opening day. Been out for bow season as well... nothing. I have to hunt mostly in conservation areas in the KC area as I don't have much lined up. That doesn't help matters. And I am new to hunting, 2 years gun hunting and this is my first season bow hunting. needless to say, just a little frustrated. P@
Easy on us here Texans! LOL! I've kinda but myself out this year as far as shooting a deer. Hunting a new lease this year so really just wanted to see what was on the lease before I took a deer. Seen some really nice deer so I kinda know what I'm dealing with now. I still have until the end of February to take one so hopefully I can down one.
No deer for me in 2011. I hunted a new 120 acre property for the first time for a full season and just began learning the patterns(not to mention its a 3 hour drive from home). I passed 5 or 6 different bucks during the rut. I saw several more, just never got the right deer into the right spot for a shot. The best stand locations will be refined for next year and I'll keep the pressure lighter now that I've got the basic pattern. Back to scouting, shed hunting(they're dropping some up here in WI), and looking for more opportunities closer to home!
