Still got an empty freezer so far this season. I'm dying to get one on the ground and have deer meat! I need meat so I dusted off the 30-06....this means war.....anyone else in the same situation?
i got a buck for early bow season and this weekend i think i'll do some herd managment for gun season
How could you pass a doe if you don't have a bow kill??!? I'm of the mind that any deer with a bow is a trophy, and I shot the first deer I had a chance at with my bow, although it happened to be a 6pointer I would have shot a doe. My season has been very slow this year, and it is really discouraging. I've seen about 1/4th the number of deer that I saw last year. I did manage to take a small buck, for which I am grateful, but I really wanted this to be the year I got a big one.
Things have been slow for me too. I hunted every weekend in October and November so far and haven't got a deer down. But hey, sooner or later a deer has to make a wrong turn and head towards me, I just hope that day isn't to far away
Last year my family butchered 13, this year 3. Some of its my fault, lost a doe, missed a couple (not usual for me), still no buck, but hell, i never shoot bucks. Gun season is next week.
I dont know why, i was lookin for a trophy, and didn't realize how hard bowhunting can be compared to rifle. But thats why its fun!
shoot soon as i get my oklahoma license i'll have a deer in the freezer aint been home to texas in a month but been suffering having to watch a really nice 8pt chasing does in the back yard/pasture here in okie at the rents not to include the dozen or better does every evenin
I have not only not gotten anything, but I have yet to see a deer while in the stand. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk
I'm assuming you mean no buck, yupp thats me! I have had the oppurtuity to harvest 2 doe's and I did so but I just have NOT seen the buck movement this year!!!!
Me 3. I had one opportunity to shoot a doe, broadside at 15 yards. I got the shakes so bad I missed, but it was such a rush. I can't wait to have another one in range and hopefully be able to put it down. I haven't dropped a single deer this season yet, but we still have time. Rifle season starts in 2 weeks and Archery runs until the end of January. Its hard already, let alone when the rut is over. As soon as school is over, I'm putting alot of time in the stand and hopefully will get something down.
I've been hunting my ass off this year hard!! I've passed on allot of shot opportunities on allot of young bucks (1.5 and 2.5 year olds). On November 4th I should've gotten the target buck I was after. To make a long story short a not so good gened 115 Inch or so 4.5 or 5.5 year old buck went to move as I released the arrow to chase a doe and I hit him directly In the spine. He dropped a good 3 to 4 Inches right before the arrow hit him. I've saw him 3 more times since, had him as close as 30 yards twice but that's a tad too far for me. I live In a one tag area so I'm holding off on doe's till the last week or 2 of the season. I also bought a doe tag for another zone 45 minutes north of me. I've been up there a half dozen times trying to arrow a doe but that's not going to well right now.
No deer here. Missed the only shot opportunity I had. Monday was opening season of rifle, decided to take my bow. Had a buck pass at 60-70 yards... Was kicking myself in the butt for that one. With how little activity I have seen lately, I am at the point If something gives me a shot. I'm taking it. Doe, buck, spike. Prettymuch anything but a button.
Between working long hours and a 18 month old. I have not got to hunt near as much this year as I have in years past! Still zero for me.
