I have used LW sticks for a couple of years now (love them). I bought one set of three, found it was not enough to get the height I wanted to I bought anther set. Four seems not enough but 5 is a lot too carry and when stacked on the back, sticks way out!

I have seen some web sites on youtube where guys add some steps to the bottom stick with webbing... Tried this and did not like the way the webbing closes making it hard to get a foot in... very tough at night, coming down!

What do you guys find is the right number of sticks?? Do you add some sort of "steps" to the bottom stick??
If you use 4 or 5 sticks, how do you pack them in?

1 stick = 3 feet, 2=6, 3- 9, 4-12 plus a foot-1.5 feet in between and a foot or 1.5 feet at the bottom. That gets me to 16-18 feet then I have the stand around 18. Id rather step down to the stand and I need hand holds higher than 18 either way... thoughts?

    Thanks, Tom

Side thought... anyone use the product available hereto help reduce potential noises? Do they fit well, are they durable etc?

What height are you trying to reach? I think 18 is perfect height if Im being mobile. Some of my stands are higher but they're there all year. 4 sticks gets me to 18 feets with proper spacing. The spacing I have set up is knee high spacing.

You can start with a couple of screw on steps at the bottom which would get you above 20ft.

I pack them in how it recommends but Ill be switching that after purchasing the straps from LW. Most likely be putting the sticks flat against the stand.

I have 4 and get close to 20 ft. I use a muddy stand with LW sticks so I lay the sticks on their sude and strap them down. much flatter that way.
