How many preference points does it take to draw a bear tag. I know that it depends on what zone you apply for and that tags can be bought on the counter for no quota zones but what is the average number of preference points needed?

I applied for area 26 and I have two preference points and did not get drawn. I guess maybe next year!

My son had 2 points for zone 51 and did not draw either.

Must be a lot more bear applications now. I thought my dad used to be able to go at least every other year back in the 90's.

Bear hunting has changed a lot since the 90's in Minnesota. It is competitive.
