Yes, I believe it may have been my first sit.

I head hunted the rest of the season due to a full freezer, and I ended up with an unfilled buck tag.

I killed 3 in 2011, and whiffed on one in 2012. Tough year for the freezer, just a buck this year.

I sure was. A doe is typically what I hunt first to get some meat in the freezer. Then, I can focus on trying to out-smart a mature buck. Also harvested a doe with the gun during an antlerless season.

One of the properties I hunt has a nearly 1-1 ratio of bucks to does so if I see any does on that property I let them go. Might not be the right thing to do, but that is what I do!!

Tried, had a nice one come in on me, but I think she knew I was there and gave me a wide birth. Stayed just outside my range. I had it drawn on her and followed her with the pin on her, but had tow let off.

Yes. Although not as successful as I'd hoped to be or usually am.
Only 1 archery do this year. Needed to bring out the artillary to finish the job of freezer filling.

Nope. I passed up many doe's (one tag area) up until the last 4 days. Had one shot on one at about 22 to 25 yards and hit a branch. The last day of the season I had 5 button bucks as close as 10 yards. They got the pass as usual. Actually I'm deerless 2 years In a row. This hasn't happened In years. Welcome to a one tag area though. Sucks!

I ended up with a total of 10 deer this season, but only five of those were bow kills. Four does and one small spike (that I thought was a doe  ) with the bow. Three does and two nice bucks with my muzzleloader.

All things considered, it was a great season. :tu:

Didn't get to take a doe this year. Had a couple chances but it just never worked out. The first time a buck was chasing and I wanted to see what it was and by the time I saw it the does were gone. The second I played cat and mouse with for a good 45 minutes. In fact she walked all the way around me and was within 25 yards the whole time. But I think she had played the game before and was just too smart. She always had something between her and I and whenever she had to pass through an opening she either jumped through or took very quick steps to get through the lane. It was awesome but frustrating to see.

Thanks Steve, but I know it's not really impressive. I hunt in some areas that have a healty deer population, so there's no shortage of shot opportunities provided you leave the portable games at home, leave the iPhone in your pocket, pick a decent location, be quiet, sit still, pay attention, keep your head on a swivel and just hunt.

My season would have been more impressive to me if I hadn't missed two nice Missouri bucks with my bow. I actually chalked up three misses with the bow this year.

Killed 2 on the ranch in 2011. I can get 5 antlerless tags in my unit, so for 2012 I plan on whacking 2 on our private ground and gonna try to fill the others on public hunting....and buy another freezer!

My 13 year old twins took two does with their bows.Meat was excellent. Hunted hard all season for a mid 150's 9 point but couldnt seal the deal. They will be back after him next year.

I shot 3 does this year, its just a hassle to gut and process all the deer that come through my butchering shed. I had 11 deer to do between me and my buddy and his girlfriends family.
