    I haven't seen one of these in almost 30 years.
    One of my workers found it in a box of hams at work today. Why it was there I have no idea. I know what I'm going to try it as though.
    I'll give the answer after a few guesses.

    I was going guess a gut hook ring. Never saw one before but it looks like it could be used as one.

    Almost looks like a Gamecock blade. Almost but, I haven't seen one that short before.

    I used to use them for tying up roast beef back in the day. When you're tying 25-50 at a time it comes in very handy. The newspaper delivery men used to use them for cutting the string on bundles of papers.
    I'm gonna try it as a gut hook.

    I think it would work great as a gut hook if the blade is long enough and you can keep it sharp.

    Its a ring cutter used for cutting plastic strapping material
