Just because the dnr sells you (x) amount of tags doesn't mean you need to fill them all. It's up to us as hunters to manage the resource based off what we see where we hunt. In my part of Mn I can shoot 2 does and a buck. I plan to shoot one doe and hope I am fortunate to cross paths with a mature buck or I'll eat that tag soup for the 3rd year in a row.
2 for bow/ml 1 either sex 1 doe. 1 buck tag. Up to to 4 does if I buy all my tags and 2 more doe tags if they are signed over to me. So a total of 9 with only 1 having to have antlers longer than 3 inches. This covers bow/ml/shotgun seasons. Some farmers around here get nuisance tags up to 50 a year. Can shoot them all year. Does only.
2 bucks 1 doe w/ lottery tag in MA... that is for the entire season (bow, firearms, and muzzleloader) NY gives us an either / or archery tag, up to 2 lottery doe tags, a regular season (firearms season) buck tag, and another either/or primitive arms tag. CT gives us 4 tags (either / or) archery
I get “unlimited” management tags from the city (earn a buck) otherwise on my property and it is 1 buck tag and one for tag. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If you ever want to come south, I've got access to 200 acres of land in the Bangor region, I'd be happy to share
For some it's hard to find places to hunt. So when they do, I understand it might be hard to share. It nice to see people on here willing to help out others who live close. I share 22 acres. It's hard sometimes.
Zone 10 NJ is 1 Buck per Archery Season, of which there are three, and then unlimited antlerless deer. I usually take 3-4 doe per year to fill the freezer and share with friends. I then am looking for a decent buck. I also hunt in my home State of Vermont where you can take 3 deer per year, that's the total for all weapons.
Whitetails? Are there other species you hunt? Mulies, elk, moose? Always wanted to go on a elk hunt. Maybe someday after I get my 3 kids through college.
I hunt 2 counties, I can take a trophy in each county, 2 doe in one county & 1 doe in the other. Taking 5 in total. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
