I've passed about 10 bucks this season and have only seen 1 shooter. I'm hunting state land so most of the bucks I'm seeing are 1.5 tears old. I almost broke today and shot a 4pointer that bedded 0 yards behind my stand. i held off and waiting for a bigger deer. So how many bucks have guys passed this season? Are you passing more than usual or about the same?
I've probably passed up shots on 15 different bucks. Too many does to count. I've seen ALOT of GREAT bucks this year, but seeing and shooting are two different things. I'll wait til after the shotgun season is over and then start shooting does for meat.
37 times I let 16 bucks go on my 80 down here in farm country. Had 2 nice ones up north with no shot.
I've had shot opportunities at 8 bucks besides the one I shot. (well actually 9 if you count the buck that was with the one I shot) The biggest one I passed on was about 110"
So far this has been the worst year in a very long time for me. I've only passed 1 buck....only seen 3 total. Typically I've passed up about 8-12 bucks on avg by mid Nov.
Several 1.5 year olds. I drew on and settled my pin on a 2.5 year old at 12 yards but then let down. Last year I passed up bigger deer that I'd shoot right about now.
I have only truly "passed" three legal bucks. One was a 6 and two different 5's. I have had a ton of spikes, 3's and 4's dance all over sets this year, but I can't call them passing as they are not legal.
To this point in the season, all units/sits/etc - I've probably passed 20 -/+ bucks... Which is actually a pretty good year for me....
I have passed 11 bucks within 40 yards. 2- 1 1/2's and 9-2 1/2's and have had them all within range more then once and a few more then 3 times
