On average how many arrows do you go through in a year?
This was my first full season and i went through 2 dozen.
I seem to go through them shooting targets.

I had the same dozen Gold Tips for like 8 years (broke like 2 or 3 in deer)....switched to BEA last year and got a dozen...only prepped 6 and will be using same 6 this next year with the other half on the side.

Target or hunting arrows? I typically only get 1 tag a year so I go thru 1 arrow a year.

Once sighted in, the only arrows I go through are a result if hitting each other when shooting groups so I quit doing that. I shoot 6 arrows when practicing so I painted 6 smallish dots about 2-3" on the target so I can aim each arrow at a different spot

The only arrows I go through are the ones I loose hunting. Otherwise I still have the same ones, plus new I've bought, since I started archery 3.5 years ago. Arrows shouldn't wear out target shooting and I certainly think you wouldn't go through 2 dozen in a year unless you're shooting at a concrete target or something. What type of arrows are you using they wear out so fast or what type of target are you using?

When I was shooting for groupings, I would trash a good 1/2 dozen a year just from one arrow hitting another.

I started shooting 50 yards and my target is small with no backstop. I think I "lost" 2-3 arrows in total Larger target or backstop and it would have been 0. Also shot a buck and will not reuse that arrow, so...mark that up to one more.

Depends on how much I am shooting. If I'm only shooting a couple dozen shots a night, I'll typically use up one or two. If I'm shooting a lot more than that at some ranges up to 100 yards, I might go through a half a dozen, plus one or two a year hunting.

I like to tinker a lot and do dumb things like shooting at a single spot at 30 yard with broadheads. Even doing this I probably only lose/break/damage 3-4 arrows a year.

I buy a dozen at a time six for hunting six for target and usually get a few years out of them. I changed my thoughts on grouping them as it started to get expensive. Like stated above, I put my own dots on my targets, then one arrow per dot, your aiming for the same place on each dot. If you are shooting the same spot on each dot that will show you how your grouping without smacking arrows into each other and ruining them. That is assuming that's how you're going through them.

If I get a clean pass through on an animal while hunting, I clean it off, inspect it and reuse it. The last two antlerless deer I killed this past season were with the same arrow and BH....that I hand resharpened. I used to save them as "special" until I had a big collection of arrows with dried blood falling on the floor and decided to rethink that concept. Sometimes I will also relegate a used hunting arrow into my daily shooter category. I do not shoot groups on spot targets and try to space my shots on 3D's and cardboard silhouettes. A dozen will last me for years with a few for shooters and the rest dedicated for hunting....especially since I went to 340 Axis.

Luckily the only thing I've done shooting close groups is damage fletchings but you bring up a good point. I'm sure the "robin hood" is coming at some point but not yet. If I'm shooting broad heads, I won't shoot the same spot. Arrows are too expensive now a days.

stick to 5-spot or Vegas faces! Robin hoods are overrated and just cost you money.
Depending on whether I'm shooting aluminum or carbon, I might go through a half dozen (target & hunting seasons)

Trying to get tight groups was my goal. I bought a few 3d targets and proceeded to shoot every chance i had. I robin hooded a few and nicked up quite a few. lost some in the tall grass.(Started mowing behind my targets after a few of those) Broke a few shooting rabbits to save my wifes flowers. It was pretty easy. No wonder they love me at my local archery shop. Im probably their number 1 arrow customer.

I shoot Gold Tip Hunter XTs.

Shot two deer, 1 rabbit: lost now arrows in that process. Lost 2 arrows in 3D shoot, poor distance judgement.

It all depends on which way the deer falls if it wasn't a pass-thru. Usually don't have any issues unless I have to re-fletch one. I had to do that this year to one of my arrows.

I started with a dozen new last year and I still have 9 of them. I normally lose or damage 1-3 every year. However, I still have 10 of the 12 FMJs I bought 4 years ago.
