I've never seen a 200" inch deer on the hoof or in any of my trail cam pics. But this is my first year using trail cam monitoring. I've got 4 bucks on cam, minus the one I harvested in November, that are over 150" so I'm hopeful for the years to come. On the 1,200 +- acres our family owns that i hunt there have been two 160's class, a 178", and my 153" taken off it. The neighbors to the south and the ones to the east each have a buck on the wall over 200", maybe I'll have mine someday too.
I've seen two that grossed out right around 200". One of them my dad killed, and the other one my dad missed with his bow the weekend before shotgun season and the neighbor killed him opening morning of shotgun season. Both times my jaw just kinda dropped and all I could think was HOLY CRAP haha. Here's my dad's deer And here's the other one that our neighbor got
200" - ain't never gonna see one around here. Good thread Steve. Got me thinking...I've been hunting about 30yrs, and spent alot of time in the woods. I've never even seen one that would for sure go 140". Seen 2 that would probably go 125-130", and one a shade bigger. That's it. Not one of my 10 closest friends that hunt has ever killed one over 125" around here...gun or bow. To my knowledge, none of them has ever seen one over 150". 110" is a good one around here, which really sucks. I envy you guys that have opportunities to see a true giant where you hunt. I did go to IL hunting a few years ago with a friend, and saw 5 that would make p&y in one week...one was about 150" 9pt. Go figure. Another buddy of mine went to IL the year previous and killed a 162" with a muzzleloader. That is the biggest I've ever seen in person, even though it wasn't killed around here.
Over 30 years of bowhunting PA and the biggest bucks I've ever seen from the stand was the 10 days I spent in IL...
I have seen two for sure on the hoof that would break 200" . I have never seen one while hunting though. I would say the largest seen while on stand would go in the 180" range.
