Stan Potts has four 200 inchers, I have 44! lol Never seen anything close, mid 150 best i have ever seen! Hopefully that will change next week! I have a five day bow hunt on the shiawassee wildlife refuge here in Central Michigan. The only place a 200 incher could even exist in my area. Its 8000 acres with all draw only hunts, This is my first time in there. Should be exciting!

In Idaho, nope, never on the hoof. But 185-190 gross yes. A guy I know has the sheds from that buck to prove it. As far as we know he is still alive, nobody shot him this year. Huge 6x6 Typical for these mountains. I am gonna hunt like mad for those sheds here starting in a few weeks!

I did possibly see one in Iowa back in 09. My buddy has trail cams and several sightings and one shed off him. He's still out there. As far as he knows. 5x side scores 90! He calls him "ribcage" when he found the shed he thought it was a ribcage at first. The other side is as big and had a 8-10 inch drop... 20 inches inside, on my 3rd or 4th day out there I saw that big slob at 75 broadside.. I did have that 188 under my stand too, that my buddy later killed. That buck was over 190 before he broke up his rack a little.

My cousin killed a 205" off our farm in '99 during gun season.

In '04 I believe, a guy from my church killed a giant 234".

One of my dad's buddies when I was younger was Mel Johnson. He killed a pretty good one too I guess :).

I have never seen a 200 plus while hunting though. Just being able to see something like that would be unbelievable.

I seen a super clean 10 pointer in Maine that was emense he was in the 190-200" range. He was bedded on a small ridge 100 yards off of a road we watched him for 20 minutes before he got up and ran off. I shot a 160" buck that night and that 10 pointer would have dwarfed him. Never before or since have I seen a buck in that class.

I have seen two on the hoof that I think would make it. I have actually seen several that were killed and have helped friends with three different ones over the years. The latest was this November and grossed 208 and change. One side grossed 98". Every time I hold one, I feel like I am holding a ghost. Extremely rare animals in the wild.

My buck is at the taxidermist this year along with 20 others. There are 4 bucks there 175+ inches. 2 gross in the upper 190's. 1 of those was shot by my cousin. Pretty typical sizes for deer they mount each year. I've seen an immense number of 160-180 inch deer in the past couple years, but I haven't seen any 200 inchers in camera or while scouting.

Here's the biggest buck I've ever seen on the hoof.

He's a PA buck.

According to the guy who shot him, he grossed 165, but I judged him a bit better than that. So, who knows. I hunted him fairly regularly on some adjacent public land, but never saw him from the stand. He was killed about 1.5 miles away by a gun hunter who hunts one day/year. Figures...

On a positive note, the two biggest bucks I've ever seen while hunting are hanging in my house. 145 and 142. I've seen some other big bucks, but never could say with any certainty that they'd crack the mid-140's.

The biggest shed I've ever found comes from a buck that grossed 158.

One summer, I did glass a buck in Ohio (velvet) that I figure would've beat 170".

I don't know a single person (other than guys on here) who have seen a 200"+ buck in the wild. I do know a few local guys who've spent tens of thousands to go on guided hunts where they've shot and seen giant deer.

But in my mind, if you're paying to see or shoot it, it doesn't count.

200'' Bucks
Well I've been bow hunting for 23 years and was self taught, so I never saw a deer close enough to shoot till the 3rd year. LOL,That's bow hunting. My 4th year I shot a 192 2/8's and not knowing what a big deer was ,ate him! Used his antlers for 4 years as rattling antlers till they got stolen from the tree I left them in for that purpose, like I said I was after the meat and had no Idea about size or anything for the matter. Along came Troy AKA Shed33! It was he who got me into thinking about photography. Still I refused and then 5 years ago I had a friend from Bowtech & Scent-Loc come up and show me how to take the pictures with a small camera with out getting caught taking the picture.
That took hold and I started shooting good deer and seeing bigger deer. That year I saw a 200+ buck with a droptine down below his left of his face and down to his knee,so about 18 inches, that he had to kneel and eat from the right of his face.I actually saw this buck break a 6 inch in diameter tree while walking in during a snow storm at 60 yards in 3 feet of snow. I guessed him at 230 nontypical.
In 09 I bought my 1st of 3 game camera's and started to get pictures of a 2 deer that I'm hoping to be still hunting that both will score over 200+ inches ,names are HighTower and FullCurl, the latter will score 220 nontypical and Hightower should score 215+.
Since our season is over I have met up with the Alberta Game wardens and found out that 60% of the Alberta Whitetail herd has been winter killed during the winter of last season. I have actually laid eyes on all 3 bucks that I had tagged as shooters this year and the last one is called Mr Perfect that is a 195+ 7x6 and totaly perfect. Folks I've been scoring since 90 by BTR sytstem and that is animals that aren't credited the scoring of air which I totaly disagree with by BnC and Pope N Young. The've been around since I can remember and have nothing against them,I just disagree with crediting an animal for non antler score. What is air? Sorry I just needed to vent about different scoring systems, I just find BTR is a system that gives the animal it's full credit. We all have our beliefs and I believe in the BTR Full Credit System which credits the deer for all the antler with out deducting what it's grown. You be the judge!
Anyways,to get back on track with what Dan asked I truly believe I'm chasing 3 different bucks that in 2012 will score over 200 inches.Believe in what God show's you, I do, I choose to believe what I see, not other's opinion's.

Including landowners and lease holders?;)

Count me out then! (as if I have seen one)

I was close though. I didn't even have a drivers license yet when I saw a deer I described as an elk on the phone to my dad after I failed to get a shot off on this monster buck. Two weeks later, about 500 yards as the crow flies a guy kills a 196" with a muzzleloader that went top 10 in the state that year. Obviously, I can't prove it was the same deer....but I'd bet both of my vehicles and anything else of value I own that it was. Don't even hunt within 30 miles of there now, that area has blown up with out of staters leasing/buying everything. Especially a huge influx of Georgia hunters who lease up everything possible and only travel up for gun season. Leaves us bowhunters foaming at the mouth, but it is their right to do so!

Do you have any pics of the buck your killed in your forth year? Did you have to pack those rattling antlers in on a sled with you? Ha! :D

I looked BTR scoring...seems logical to me. The buck is given credit for what he grows and nothing else. Seems like a simple concept. Hope you tag one of those monsters you have running around. Good luck!

I was eating deer then not taking pictures! Before that I was a sniper in the Canadian Airbourne and thought nothing of it to shoot my 1st mulie at 300 yards with a 30-30 winchester with open sites. That's what got me into bow hunting,I haven't used a gun since, except for the gun shoot on the armed forces base in Wainwrite Alberta. That would be a meat hunt again! That happens ever 3 years.
