I know checking to much can scare the deer off with your smell but how often do y'all check your cams?

Honestly it depends on location of camera. In bedding zones I try to let them set a month minimum and pull them out about a month before the season unless I have a stand burried in there right beside it.

Stand along a two-track path I wouldn't hesitate and have checked weekly or whenever back at them. Some cameras honestly go months while others sometimes just days depending on how intrusive it is to check them.

5-6 weeks. Scent can last up to 30 or more days if dry and not windy.

1-2 weeks, sometimes longer but since I'm using public land I have to feel confident that no one else will find it for me to leave it very long.

I just pulled two cams off public land this morning in anticipation of the hunters starting to scout the area. I scout from Feb 1 till about now. My cameras were out 5-6 weeks this time.

What time is it? On a feeding station i don't think it matters deer just think your dropping off more food or minerals big difference then a cam set up on a trail which I no longer do near my stand sites.

During late spring and summer about two to three weeks, when it gets to this time of year usually longer. I put my cameras mostly on the fringes though where they are easily driven to and cards switched out quickly. Of course it helps that a lot of the farm I hunt is pasture with cows at one time or another throughout year so having a 4 wheeler buzzing around is not that big of a surprise for deer to see.

Another good idea is to put the cameras on the path to your stand or a food plot that you are working on. that way you can kill two birds with one stone (if you need/want to move your stand).
