I put an arrow through a doe on saturday morning (bad shot, jerked it) and tracked her for 3 hours and finally gave up after we jumped her and she ran into a very thick thicket and we lost the blood trail. Im not sure if she survived, but I do know that she lost a considerable amount of blood. My question is this, How long should I wait before hunting that area again? there were 2 does and I know the one I shot was looking right at me when I shot, but im not sure about the other.
On a doe get right back in there, I shot one doe out of two one mornning and shot the other that afternoon.
what Meathunter said, I shot one out of the four there at 0830 and couldn't go back out but my trail cam got video of one of the others at 1420ish at my stand.
I almost wonder if these accounts are just made up to see who all says what in response. Someone is fishing here, and I'm not taking the bait!
As if that could ever happen.... It's just coincidence that the first post a lot of people make seem to have questionable stories inside them.
I can't speak for anyone else but I would look longer than three hours for a deer that I shot and it lost a lot of blood as you say. I've looked longer for wounded ducks. I would also show some remorse over not recovering something that I shot that is sure to die. And instead of asking about going back in to shoot another deer maybe ask for some advice on how to find the one you already shot.
Step 1: hang up bow Step 2: Go back and look for the deer Step 3: If deer is not found then go home and reflect for a few days. Ask yourself, is the kill more important to you than hunt? If so, quit for the year. ..And we wonder why anti's hate us so much. Pathetic.
