This really puts my life into perspective. I graduated high school in May of 1996. If I had joined the Navy, as originally planned, I would be 2 and a half years away from retiring w. 50% benefits I don't regret the choices I made, I just wonder what things would have been like.
2 years and 3 months. Love the field I am in, but not my company. Despite doing something I enjoy, and dealing with a field in the company I have helped grow, I find myself wanting to pursue other opportunities or go back to school more and more because of the higher ups here.
Ha ha we usually so a decent job on everything. You don't wanna see our 4 foot forms though, they kinda get neglected are are pretty bad.
with 33 years military, if I got a gov't job and bought back my military time, wouldn't I be able to retire on the day I started?
I've only had two REAL jobs. My first job I was at for 7 months and then relocated to NC this past July and have been at my current job for 5 months.
I've been commercial fishing for 27 years.I didn't think I had been doing it that long but the math don't lie. I've had a few public jobs when I was younger for about 3 years but still fished. I was laid off in 1991 and have been fishing full time ever since. Its been a tough life but I don't think I could have done anything else.
I have been with my company now two years on Wednesday, but I recently accepted a new position and started it about three weeks ago.
