Just curious how long of a drive do you guys got to get to your hunting area?
I'll be making a 45 minute drive this year to some property my family recently got.

It takes me a 30 min drive to get to my hunting land. That includes stopping at Wawa (24 hours) for a coffee. Gotta have my Wawa! :nana:

Anywhere from just a walk out my back door to 50 minutes. I have about 15 places to hunt(5 main places) that can all be reached in that time frame. Most are within 15 minutes.

2 minutes for one property, 10 to another, 20 for a couple and 30 for my public spot.

2 hours currently. We are looking to purchase ground though, so when that happens it will shorten significantly. Called the realtor today :D

I try to keep all my spots within 60 miles. Most of them are a 30 to 45 min drive.

I thought everyone was just hunting 4-5 minutes away. That's quite a big of a drive for a lot of people. How do you fit hunting in with your current work schedules? How do you go without your trail cameras or tree stands being stolen?

On one property, its a walk from the back door or a 2 minute drive to the other parts of it. On 2 other propertys its a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute for the other!

I am about 30min from the land and then a 2 min walk to the stand. last year I made the mistake of having a 15min hike up a mountain to my stand. After doing that one a couple times I decided to try a new spot this year :)

In West Virginia that's just how you have to hunt most of the time. I go out of state and people wonder where I got my big calf muscles at. There's not many fields in McDowell/Wyoming County (where I hunt) and for that it's basically you dragging deer up mountains as steep as buildings and hiking those mountains every single time you go hunting. I'd love to live in a flat state.

    30 min and 2.5 hours.

As for the question regarding balancing drive time around work/family....I work my @ss off around the house and with family throughout the summer reminding my wife often that I am getting this or that done so she will have to worry about it mid-Sept thru Nov.

Also, there was a question about having cameras stolen. Have not had a camera stolen for a few years now and that was locally and it was a POS Cuddeback that I purchased for $5 at a garage sale so not a big loss. Last year I did have a $250+ two-man ladder stand stolen, though. It really irritated me as I was just beginning to bring my oldest kid to the woods with me. I only got to sit that stand one time....
