kind of a follow up to my post in the whitetail section....

If I can't go track my deer until morning and the weather is calling for mid-low 40's and rainy tonight.....will the meat still be good come morning?

I plan to dress it right away in the field, get it home, cut the skull cap off, and then go to the processor immediately....

I've never had to wait over night to track a deer....this is my first archery deer. and only my 3rd deer ever

how can i tell if its still good if the time makes it borderline?

It should be fine. My father's left a deer out all night and it was fine.
    Process it your self! XD

Weather in the 40s, the meat will be just fine.

Should be fine but if you've got any question just take a quarter off, move it away from the carcass and give it a good sniff. If it smells okay, it is.

I had to leave my buck out overnight in temperatures in the mid 50s and the meat was still fine. I'd say your golden!
