Well I had been on a nice little 3 year streak until last season saw me hunt hard for one particular buck...needless to say while I went tagless it was one of my best seasons. This year with it being the second year at the Swamp Property I definitely feel more confident in some horn is gonna touch the ground out there!
3 years. I shot a buck in 2010 and it ran over the property line and that land owner wouldn't allow me to retrieve it and said she would have me arrested if I did. I called the game commission but they said there was nothing they could do. Even though I see a lot of bucks there, I no longer hunt that spot because of that neighbor and the thought of losing any deer is too much a risk. I've been on a dry spell since except for does.
Took 1 in WI with a rifle but had to pass and a cool 6 pt last yrs because I'm a guest and want to be a good hunting buddy(my host said only wall hangers). Here's to getting something substantial in bow range this yr!
I've been hunting for 5 years with a bow and have yet to see a legal buck during the season. I see nice buck on camera all summer and come season they seem to be not around and all I see is scrub buck. This will be my 17th year hunting total and still no buck. When I was younger I did miss two with a gun. In all honesty I've only seen 3 legal buck while hunting over that time. Sent from my KFTT using Tapatalk 2
Killed 5 bucks and 3 does, first doe at 12 first buck at 14 all with a rifle except one doe and one buck both taken in 2012. Hunted 2007, 2011 and 2012 with a bow. before 2012 the last deer I killed was a doe in 2009.
