Early season usually 3 hours morning and/or evening. Come pre-rut/rut time as much as possible.

Whatever my schedule will allow. Sometimes just a morning, sometimes a week. Depends.

It depends on the weather, the day, what I have going on, and how I feel. Sometimes I'll be in the stand til 9am, sometimes til noon. I rarely hunt all day, as I generally hunt different stands for AM vs PM. I have a deer in the freezer already, so this year I might sit all day, as I attempt to put something on the wall.

I killed this guy at 1:15PM on Oct 28th '09. They can come by any time, but you've got to be there! View attachment 10223

How can you guys dip/chew? Where do you spit? Doesnt it completely counteract your scentlok/scent masking sprays?

I publish a dental magazine and have been unfortunate enough to see the long term effects of this. If you saw what your deformed mouth will look like at age fifty, you'd never touch the stuff again. The cancerous lesions are the stuff of Halloween masks. ((((((((((shudder)))))))))

I usually try to hunt for at least 4 hours. I have really gotten into bow hunting now. I hunt more or less depending on conditions and time of the year. Bucks don't seem to show up where I hunt until the temps get down around 60 or less. I have found that I see the largest amount of deer on afternoon hunts. I do all my bow hunting behind my parents house which is less than 20 acres I think, but we still get a lot of movement during bow season. Once gun season starts you have better chances winning the lottery than seeing a nice deer, so I choose my hunts more accordingly then.
