This upcoming season will be my third season bowhunting. Had absolutely no luck first season, didn't even see any deer while I was out with the bow but got one with my shotgun. Last year I used what I learned from the previous season and tips and ideas from the forums and did manage to set up better...spooked a doe when I stood up in the stand as a smaller one was running around playing, then had an 8 pointer come in but stayed about 80 yards out. So hopefully this year I continue to apply lessons learned and harvest my first with my bow!

My first time out bowhunting had to be when I was around 10 or 11. I remember how NOOB I was like it was yesterday, Had a nice 6 point for any young hunters first deer come walking down broadside of me and when I stood up to take the shoot, my damn walkie-talkie fell out of my pocket and scared the deer away. 7 years later I went out for my first time ever on my own and shot a nice spike. Nothing has compared to that feeling yet of a first deer.

Shot a 6 point my 2nd day Bowhunting. I had my choice of 3 different 6 points that were feeding on Apples in the orchard I was hunting. I took the biggest one of course!

Last year was my first official year hunting.
I'm still waiting to get something - missed my only chance last year. Nerves got the best of me - totally forgot to put the peep site on the deer (twice), whoopsie! I shot a foot or two away, dang thing didn't even move!

Took me till my second season when I was 15, Barely nicked the button buck on the bottom of the hide of the stomach. The hide cut wide open and the whole stomach fell out while it ran off.

About six days of sitting mornings and evenings I was able to arrow a very nice doe in my first season.

It took me seven long years to tag my first deer with a bow. Once I got the monkey off my back it's seemed to be a little easier.

First season went 60+ days in the stand with no shot. Plenty of deer around just no clear shot. Second season brought one of my buddies to sit in a blind with me ended up taking a dear a piece at the same time when a group of 6 gave us a perfect broad side shot at 20 yards. Couldn't think of any better way to start off the season.

It took me 2 1/2 weeks of my first season hunting. I see that others haven't been so lucky, so i am leaving it up to good scent control technology, a quiet bow, and good old fashioned luck. She was the second deer i drew on. The first was the week before and I won't so excited i closed the wrong eye when i was aiming and must have cursed at myself outloud because she busted me and ran off.

I was really fortunate and took a nice doe my 2nd time out. Came about 15 yards from my stand. Shot a small buck this year, but my next buck is going on the wall, so Ill be waiting

This will be my 7th season bowhunting. Tho, many does and bucks, 2 bucks of which are on my wall, have hit the dust from my shotgun and 7mm mag, I still have yet to lay the smack down on the right one with the bow. Maybe this year will be the year. And maybe the bucks will get another pass, only time will tell!
