You can affordably purchase a trail cam that you can view live video and audio anytime? I know they have trail cams that can download the pics real time from your trail cam to your computer. But what about video and audio? Almost like a live web cam at your trail cam location. I'm sure the technology exists, but how long before it is affordable to the average guy?

There is a fine line ethics question that will be presented IMO. You could literally watch your real time video and see if you should go hunt that day or which stand to sit in and listen to what is going on. I suppose you could do that with pictures as well but the video would tell you a little more as to what the deer are up to. Best case is it would take still pics and give you the option to watch live video/audio.

I've always been one to support anyone that uses any legal advantage they can get. My thought right now is that this would be crossing the line in regards to fair chase (for me). But if someone else decided to legally use it I would not look down upon it.

If it was legal would you use it assuming it was affordable?

If it ever was built, I don't think that it would actually give you any advantage unless you were using it while hunting a nearby stand. If you are at home and you are getting live videos sent to you from your cameras than there really isn't a way that you can go and get into your area and hunt it without pushing those animals away from there. I think that having time stamped pictures is pretty much just as usefull as getting live video. I just think that live video would make me a lot more addicted to my computer. If you used the live camera to watch other trails or something like that while you were hunting than I think that would start to question the ethics.

First off, (some people in) Montana apparently thinks a regular trail cam is unethical.

What if it had a camera that moved up/down, could turn 360 degrees and you could zoom in and out and it was controllable from home over the Internet? Like you could look around and zoom in and out as if you were sitting there?

Where do you draw the line? I'm just asking questions here.

That is exactly what I am building, the dome is heated in the winter and cooled on the summer, and has night vision:moose:

    Use it, LOL

    SELL IT:woot:

I would use it to scout in fields for sure, nothing like sitting at a soccer game in Sept watching a been field at the hunting grounds. The ability to scan the entire field and zoom in.
