I took my son turkey hunting. WI gets one week on a tag. Our weekend included freezing rain and snow. He still hasn’t lost the spirit. I hung cams and got everything ready for this fall with the lack of turkeys. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
No, I’ve never been a turkey hunter. It just never appealed to me. It costs as much (if not more) as deer hunting and all you get for the effort, chiggers and ticks is a couple of turkey breasts.
Heavy into baseball season with my boys. My oldest had his best game of the season in last night’s game. Pitched 3 innings, 7Ks, 3Ws, 1H, 1 pick off. He went 2 for 3 with two RBI singles, 5 SBs, 2 runs scored.
Work and travel for work, rest of May is going to be airports. Looking forward to summer. I need to get over to the farm to see how the pasture has recovered from grazing.
Congratulations man!! Such a big accomplishment. Be proud of yourself! Think they could post your shower selfie & ass shot buck side by side at the graduation?? Haha I kid I kid. I’ve just been living life. Have been trying a product owner gig at work instead of my account manager position. Don’t think I’m going to peruse it any further than the few months I’ve been doing it. Not sure how the housing market is where everyone’s at but my GF just lost her salary position as a office manager for 12 real estate agents yesterday. No one is selling so the manager can’t justify the salary anymore. She will still get paid when people sell/doing promotional marketing she does. She also has 2 other jobs so it’s not all bad (always try to look at the good in life). We are younger (I’m 35 she’s 32) and don’t have kids so we plan vacations every year. Miami, Vegas, and Nashville on the calendar in the coming months. Need to find time to get my minerals and cameras out in the next week or so. Hope everyone is doing well. Not much new with me. Burn ban lifted today my son and I burned up a bunch of brush and old pine. 3 32oz mixed drinks and some Jimi Hendrix made it an easy task. Took the 68 out to go get pizza before the drinks it ran pretty good. I need a weekend coming up to move some stands but they have been busy.
Congrats Joe! I had been thinking your graduation was coming up pretty soon. You've fought the good fight and finished well. Now go shrink some heads!! Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Congrats Swamp, has to feel good to be finishing up school. Definitely something to be very proud of! We've had a weird Spring in the PNW, stayed cool an extra month so the snow hung on longer than usual, now it has jumped to mid 80's with a few days in the 90's. Feels like we didn't get a Spring. Only made it out one time to turkey hunt, the lingering snow and family stuff just didn't allow more time to try for one. Cost of fuel made me choose to not bear bait for the 2nd year in a row, just costs too much in fuel to go up every 3 days to keep the bait from running out. Have made it to three 3d shoots so far this year, managed to shoot well enough to take 2nd place at one of them. Slammed with birthdays this time of year too, one day of every weekend has been someone's bday party to go to. One of them was mine, just turned 50. My mind doesn't believe it, but my body thinks it's probably true. My hunting partner has been reminding me on a weekly basis that I now will have to shoot in the Senior class at 3d shoots. Got up to the property yesterday and had a productive day. Hauled a 4-wheeler up to leave for the summer, put out some cameras, found a few mushrooms, and burnt some slash piles from last year. Morels are pretty slim this year. Mother's Day weekend is usually the prime time for them at the elevation our property is at. But it stayed cool longer than usual and jumped into the 80's with little rain, so it is going to be a very short season for them unless it starts putting down some decent rain in the next week or so. I think I may find a few more next weekend and then that'll be it. Lots to do at the property, need to mow and cut firewood for camp, do some spraying, drag some of the roads, and got some fence that needs patched up from the winter.
That's awesome man, I remember back when the old career went south and you were figuring things out. Like said man, awesome. Congratulations. As for the thread, just working and counting the days till end of July when go on vacation out to Colorado. Taking the jeep with a group of ppl met locally out to do some trails in the mountains. Gonna be on some old mining roads that get little sketchy in few spots but from videos been watching the views are amazing. Mostly been good tho. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
who are you and what did you do with Joe? all good in Noodlandia. Spending a lot less time online, as noted by a few regulars. Making a lot of tinfoil hats and 'I told you so' t-shirts in my spare time. Was up in 'Sconnie last weekend on a beautiful place, caught a few real big crappies and a couple skinny pikes. Got our food plots sprayed and looking to disc and plant w/in a couple weeks. Oh, and went fishing 3 weeks ago on a guided deal on the Detroit River; the boat limited out on wallies in less than 3 hours. That was a great time. Super simple, too. Just drift, bump the bottom w/ minnow tail jigs. I'm the one with the handsome smile. Others from left to right are my cousin, his dad (my paternal uncle) and his son-in-law. I'll keep dipping in here time to time as the summer goes to check in on you Degens; will get more regular around the team drawing time.
