I was ready for the season to end this year. We had decent weather last weekend, but I didn't leave the house.

I have till the end of Febuary to hunt. I plan to be out Saturday evening. We have a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. Don't have a lot of chances to hunt in the white stuff. Whish me luck.

We have metro zones here open till the end of January. I've checked a few times by stand sites I have in these zones for tracks. Nothing so I'm staying home. Guess I'm done for the season unless something changes in the next week or two.

I suppose it doesn't help when you did not shoot a single arrow this year while hunting.

It's been four days since the end of last season but I was out in the woods this afternoon. I wanted to get out so I took my dog for a walk. I figured there was a chance of finding shed. No luck in that dept. I caught myself scouting for October. :tu: Me and my boy kicked up a few deer and I spotted a few driving in. I believe I counted 20 deer...three different groups equaling 18 appeared to be does and 2 decent bucks still had there head gear. It was a good evening.

Yeah I got the itch pretty bad already. Tough time of year to keep busy doing outdoors stuff. I'm thinking about getting into yotes to pass the winter months. Once spring rolls around i'm busy enough where it's not on my mind all the time. It's somewhat more tolerable (until it gets closer to the opener).

I'll be out after a doe this Saturday but that will likely be it for deer this season. I have steadily been after fox and squirrels using a gun but I am going to switch to bow for squirrels pretty soon. Squirrel ends in March then Turkey in April but fox all year. The fun never stops if you don't want it to.

Groundhogs are a non game animal here and we can hunt them all year and even on Sunday. I'll be doing some more of that this year.

Tony, Many years I feel the same and others I am maxed out and ready for a break.

I usually do some post season scouting this time of year, run Trail cams for a month or so, and toward the end of this period freshen my mineral licks. I really enjoy all phases of the Hunt anymore and just not the in season killing part.

I have been dreaming about sneaking off somewhere to Turkey Hunt, and I'd love to Bear hunt just don't see the extra $$$ there.

I would Like to Draw Blood with my New Bow though, and I also have some New Broadheads I'd Love to test ;)

    Dan

I TOTALLY get the scouting, shed hunting, turkey and small game huntting, heck fishing too! But for me, there is nothing more magical than deer hunting...but thats me. Rest assured I will be doing all of the above, but it still aint deer hunting.....ya know?
