So back ground on this buck is trail cam pic all summer long and then 2 weeks before opening day he went nocturnal!!! 2 weeks into bow season i kill my 1st deer 2 does on a saturday morning, so i decide to take a day off and not hunt sunday. Go hunting the following week and get my cams out the woods and there he was at 9:10am at my stand, i was not happy He was at the top of my hit list. Now to the hunt, I hunted a different property that am and didnt see any deer, so after i got out the stand i spend the next 3hrs setting up a new stand where i have been getting pic of some nice bucks 130-140. After that its almost time to get ready to go bk to stand and that was not easy to decide as most of my stands was at the land that was been logged. so after a few min i decided not to sit in the same stand and go sit on a stand that is at the very top of a ridge on the logged property, me thinking that they would not get up there coz its so steep. As i get ready and head up i see one of there mechines up the top and i was already starting to regret it. the rigde is about 500yds long and they was on 1 end so i thought just go as i walked i was walking along the logging road hoping it would not go to my stand but sure enough it did it stopped 30yds before my stand, once again i was thinking i was wasting my time :( So i climb up at about 4pm the stand has metal bars for a seat and i didnt bring a cushion making it uncomfortable but i was thinking i was there so i made do. Then im looking for a hook for the bow and no look so i had it on my lap, things not going good at all after about 45min i decided to snape a branch to put my bow on ehich made a loud noise. The property line was about 30yds behind me and i could see where deer was jumping over. So as i was just sitting there on BH.com i hear a few loud bangs like a horse was stamping his feet, i slowely look over my right shoulder to the fence and didnt see any thing so i look behind me and sure enough i see the bk end of a deer, i lean out of my seat so i can see if it was a doe or a buck as his head is inline with my bk and the tree. I see its a buck so i quickly to to get a better look over my left shoulder trying to be as fast as i can and as slow as i can as he is only about 5yds from my tree. I see he is a big deer so i spin to my right abd grab my bow and stand up all this time he was almost broadside to me looking bk at the fence. I pulled bk and put my 10y pin on him (i have 4 pins but for now are set up for 10-20-30 till after this season and i do more pratice) then just let it go. he ran straight past me and stopped about 20yds infront of me looking around, at this point i thought did i miss, but i could see the entrance hole but still wasnt sure after about 10sec he ran across my path another 20yds before he dropped just off to my right. i waited about 5min before getting down as i could see he was dead and thats when i laid my hands on his beautiful rack :) he scores 139 2/8 gross and 132 1/8 net. My 1st buck with a bow that is going to be hard to beat. Im getting him mounted :) Thanx to all the info from this site and all the people on it :)
