I hunt North Dakota and have the privilege to hunt private land. Every time I go out for a sit in the tree stand I watch around 10 to 15 does that are about 15 to 20 yards in front of me. North Dakota only allows for one archery tag each year and it’s for either buck or doe, up to you to decide what you want to shoot. So it gets frustrating watching people drop does left and right all across the country while I’m sitting here thinking holy moly look at all this venison I could be enjoying haha. Not a bad thing to be frustrated about just wanted to see if anyone else shares the same thoughts..

It's much different now, but back when I started hunting here in Pa (70's-80's), you were only allowed to kill ONE deer per year. Buck or doe.

I don't get a bonus tag every year, 2-1/2 miles away people can shoot up to 4 deer per yer. There is a one buck limit here in Minnesota as well.

Very fortunate here in KY. We can take 1 buck and 3 doe. Additional doe tags can be purchased as well.

Justin...you just have to change your mind frame or start hunting other places in addition to ND. You will drive yourself crazy otherwise.

    Good luck this season.

We've been on a 1 deer limit for all hunting seasons here in MN for quite a few years. Luckily this year I'm able to take a buck and a doe in the area I hunt.

My tag came with 1 buck tag and 3 doe tags. Can purchase more doe tags over the counter as needed. Central Farmland Zone WI. I usually fill a doe tag as early as I can which helps me wait for the right buck to come along. It sure would be frustrating to not have that option.

Comparison is the thief of joy. No sense worrying about what all the social media warriors are doing. Sounds like you have some good hunting, enjoy it for what it is. ND is incredible.
Only one buck here in OH.

Oh I love the place I hunt and it is amazing watching lots deer every sit. And with a 50 hr a week job and a lady and two kids out of state hunting isn’t in the picture.. but it’s all fine I would never get angry about it or let it hurt my feelings haha deer hunting is about enjoying the entire experience. I understand not many people have the opportunity to watch a lot of deer every time they sit. By no means am I upset just wish I could take a doe and have some meat in my freezer. One deer doesn’t go far with a family of four.... only receiving one tag a year does teach someone patience though also. Anyone from out of state know pricing for nonresident hunts?

With the two kids starting school and extracurricular activities it couldn’t be far or expensive.

Yep that’s what it is here... it’s hard waiting all year for the right one. I’ve got 3 bucks that are in the 140’s and 2 in the 150’s. I’ve passed up the 140’s already once each. The benefit of having only one tag is the feeling of accomplishment when you finally tag the buck your after. There is no way anyone can you got lucky when you have to have to have the patience to wait for only one deer all year. The only negative thing about it is your season can be over opening day and then you have to wait for a year to get in your stand again or your one deer you shot is ate in a couple months and you go without venison the rest of the year

It does make it an amazing feeling when you tag the one you wanted and know you hunted only that deer.
