Most (but not all) people set thier top pin for 20 yards and I do as well.

My set up isn't exremely fast...probably around 250 fps.

I set my top pin @ 20 also. When I shoot from an elevated position it holds out to about 25 with minimal enough drop to not change my point of aim.

FPS....? My other specs are in my signature.

Yup, my first pin is set at 20 yards like everyone else with pins following at 30 and 40.

Everyone compensates except for Hardcore....his bow is flat out to, what was it, 40 yards? :D

I personally set my pins dead on at 20 30 40 50 60. I compensate to halfway with the first pin, meaning 25 i use the 20 and hold high, 35 i use 30 and hold high....etc.

Generally, I use the same top pin for everything 25 and in.

Answered this over there as well.

    I shoot a 375 grain arrow 258 fps @ 28" draw and 58#'s.

My first pin is set at 23 yards.here is how my trajectory plays out.

5 yards= 1/2" low Low is due to sight paralax
    10 yards= 1" high
    15 yards= 2" high
    20 yards= 1" high
    23 yards dead on
    25 yards= 1 1/4" low
    30 yards= 4 1/2" low

So I set a 23/30/35/40 yard pins and a 55 yarder for fun.Pretty clear to see that there really isn't such a thing as flat and according to my trajectory,it is pretty clear why I have a 30 yard pin.

Once I get back for deer, I'll probably move them to 22, 30 & who cares what the other 2 are.

Top pin set to 22, second 30, third 40, 4th and 5th aren't set at the moment. Like Trev, I compensate out to 25 with the top pin.

20, 30, 40 and 50. It does not matter after 35 as they usually get a pass, the pins are mainly for practice beyond that.
