How much time do you give yourself between being all set up in the tree until shooting time? Just curious to see what people say. I'm particularly referring to morning hunts, but afternoon times will help as well.

Morning hunts I try to be in stand 1 to 1.5 hours before legal shooting light especially on public land. On the lease its around 30 to 45 minutes though, because I don't have to worry about setting up a stand or other hunters.

All I hunt is private land and I usually in the stand 1 hour or so before shooting time. Depending on work anywhere from 2-4 hrs. before sunset.

I'm usually in the stand in the morning 30 min before shooting light depending on the stand. If the stand is hard to sneak to, I get there an hour before shooting light. I try to get myself at least 2 hours of quiet (sit) time in the stand in the afternoon. This is on private land.

I like to be in the stand one hour before the slightest bit of light. I allow twice as much time as I think I need on public in the AM. Things are alot harder and extra caution is always taken in the dark of night.

in early season I try and get in the stand 1.5 hours before light; however, opening day I can't sleep so I'd might as well go straight to my stand after work the night prior. lol On opening day I do get to my stand 2 hours prior to light incase I run into any issues.

if your Team 22 "the Fussy wussy puzzies" you just get up at anytime and drive around until you hit a deer, or find one dead, then get out of your car and stick an arrow in it and call it a day.

I've always hunted my own personal land right outside my house. I like to be in stand at leat 30 minutes before opening shot.

As far as afternoon. Well my real preference is to sit all day, especially during the rut. They move through there at all times. I've found on my land, late morning / early afternoon, when most would be going in, is when they're coming through.
If I have to work I don't get into stand until 4:30 or so.

I attempt to be "Set Up" (thats done climbing, pulling up haul rope, hanging bow, nocking an arrow, placing out my Thermocell, getting a last drink) 45 minutes before "Civil Twilight". In the afternoon, I am in the stand 3+ hours prior to dusk.. All depending on moon phases (sometimes I sit 9am to 3pm in the later season).....This is on my private lease...

Morning hunts, 1 hr. before light. During the rut, 10am-2pm. I find these to be the hottest times to be in the woods during the rut.

Usually I like to be set & ready to go with no more than 20 minutes before I can shoot.

However the plan I am hoping to execute opening morning is gonna be an early one. I'm going to completely break character and attempt to be ready to go a full 2hrs before light.

Generally like to be in 30 minutes before first light in the morning. I hunt private ground with permanent stands.

At least 2 hours, if possible, before sun down in the afternoon.
