Did Green Bay really get that much?
We got 8 inches as of 6am this morning.

Current view from my office at work.

I made it in but will probably leave around noon or so before the winds pick up.

Very carefully. If you don't have 4 wheel drive you don't. With 4 wheel drive you watch your ***.

I just looked. They are under the blizzard warning as well so no lie. However it doesn't appear like it is going to hit them as hard.

Still snowing hard here and should be for the rest if the day. I'm more worried about the 35-50 mph winds that are supposed to start soon. The drifts are what get you in trouble.

There has never been a policy at the different places I've worked. But they all expected you to show up. Getting home was usually the hard part.

One time when I worked at a bank we parked in an underground lot. Us lowly tellers were always the last to leave... and the one day it had snowed heavily. The higher ups left hours earlier, it was a Friday, the drive-thru window stays open until 7pm, so by time we were leaving the ramp coming up out of the garage was filled with snow. I had a 4x4 IH Scout so I had no problems but my coworkers had a sedan and a custom van. They couldn't get out. I drove up and down the ramp until I wore a path their vehicles could negotiate. Even with 4 wheel drive, I almost slid into the cement walls a couple of times. LOL.

I've driven back from Chicago during a few snowstorms and ice storms. We get some really nifty ice storms around here. Trees crash down, power poles snap, of course there's no power for days. Fun.

A couple years ago when we had that nasty blizzard I called K to let him know they were closing the roads and that we had already lost power. He works second shift and decided to leave early. It's 25 miles from his work to home. He spent two hours on the road trying to get home but couldn't make it. There was zero visibility with the snow and 70mph winds. The drifts were bad and he kept getting stuck. Everybody was stuck out there, even a firetruck. Conditions that bad are rare, thankfully, but no one should really be expected to drive any real distance in that crap.

We call it a bonus day, WHOOO Hooo. The tourist sure stand out the locals just don't have to ice in their coolers for a couple months, a good cooler will keep your beer from freezing in the worst of weather.

Let it snow we ain't skeeerd of no stinkin snow.

They might be lying or at least exagerating?

I just looked up the updated forecast for GB on weather.com and it shows 4-6 inches of snow expected today. However the winds do look strong at around 40 mph.

Considering one of my jobs is a Fire Department and the other is an EMS service...im usually swamped during bad weather.

If the visibility is very poor... the boss calls and gives me the day off. Usually when it settles down the next day, I don't have to go to work until noon. The boss and the other guy I work with are cleaning out their yards and the main farm with the boss's big snow toys.

Meanwhile I am cleaning out my yard in town with an itty bitty snow blower. Then I go to work only to have to come home that evening to the County grader burying me again when he cleans the streets. Then the real works begins with the itty bitty snow blower trying to get through the packed, gravel/snow pile he pushed into both driveways.

When I'm not traveling, I work from home. If its snowing, I call my boss and tell him what the situation is and that I'll be working in my office and if he needs anything give me a call.

We got a bit of snow on the way starting tomorrow night and into Saturday. I heard 8-10 inches. It won't affect me because I don't work. LOL Not only that... I'm flying to Seattle for 2 weeks tomorrow afternoon. Let it snow all it wants in upstate NY... I'm out of here. My buddy volunteered to keep my driveway clear. I had my 2 best friends over yesterday afternoon for 100 steamed clams, later venison and the like. Of course there was also alcohol involved. I got him drunk and he fell for the bait to have my driveway clean when I return next year.LOL
