At work my calendar is fairly well scripted with exceptions for the occassional 'fire drill'. On a hunt, the re are more changes (audibles at the line) due to events (weather, others in the woods, etc), but there is always a loose plan.

The plan might look like this:
Hike in while dark, short nap till light, morning hunt, meet back at the landmark/vehicle at a certain time, lunch/debrief/plan changes, afternoon hunt, hike out at dark.

Others plans may be hike, nap, morning hunt, nap, afternoon hunt, hike.

What does your 'plan' look like?

it all depends. since im in college now i cant hunt a lot more during the season. its usually something like this..
early morning hunt, class, lunch, practice and an afternoon hunt if practice isnt too long.
during turkey season i can hunt a lot more though.
every morning during turkey season almost, class, lunch, and maybe an afternoon hunt if we got on a bird and couldnt close the deal

I work a rotating schedule. 3 days on, 3 days off; 3 nights on, 3 days off. I usually hunt whenever I'm not working. Afternoons more than mornings. But I hike in, hunt till 11ish, go home and nap till 2ish. Then back out for the evening by 3:30-4. I have a few spots that I use depending on how much time I have , wind, and time of day.

The wheather dictates my plans.Early season it's usually hot and dry so I hunt from treestands or sit on a water hole.October can be warm and the deer don't move much,so I use my stands in the morning and again in the evening, and scout for deer sign the remainder of the day.I look for rubs and new scrapes.By nov. I start to sit in my stands for longer hours, but If it's windy or some moisture has fallen I will still-hunt and sit in cover next to bedding areas or trails.December can turn brutaly cold so I can only take a couple hours on stand before I get down and move around. My hunting area is 25 miles away,so I usually stay from sun up to sun down.

My plan ----> climb a tree, sit there until something I want to kill walks by, kill it, eat it, repeat.

    I hate you :poke:

I hunt from whatever time I get home until dark during the school week (when basketball practice allows). On the weekends I get to the stand 45 minutes before daylight and stay until about 10 then head back to the house for food and a nap. Then head back out at about 3 and stay until dark.

on a new moon, I hunt 30 min before daylight to about 10.00, then back out at 2 and stay till dark. on a full moon I hunt from 9 till 3. mostly I hunt whenever I can. with work, wife and a three year old, there is usually a few hours here and there that I can go. When I'm in a groupt we hunt morning and evening with deer drives mid day.
