Did a little research and I like the idea of the bullhead either being a instant kill or a complete miss. But does it really work?

They recommend using a full length arrow for safety. But I certainly don't want to start increasing my DW to make up for the longer arrow. My "whitetail arrows" with conventional BH's have a perfect tune at my current DW. That is not something I want to fool with in the fall.

If I am going to use these during fall I need them to be able to hit at the same spot as my deer hunting arrow.

If the logistics of trying to hunt with a regular BH and this bullhead at the same time is not feasible then I will just use regular BH for turkey and deer in the fall and switch my set-up for this bullhead in the spring. I've lost some turkeys with regular BH's before on body shots and I just would like something more lethal.

    Thoughts?

The longer arrow would make for a weaker spine so you might have to decrease DW. You could also try and find a slightly stiffer spine shaft and make turkey arrows with that.

Myself, I would just pass on that BH. It seems to me that BH is a one use BH. Whether it hits the turkey or not it is going to get messed up when it hits the ground or whatever after the turkey. Plus you have to aim at a much smaller target. I would prefer a multi use BH that allowed me to aim at the body.

Duh...... yeah your right. :bash: DW to go down with a longer arrow. Sheesh...:o

Well they claim it's replaceable blades but who knows. :sheep:

Have you had good luck with turkeys dropping within sight? I just have not had good luck even if it is a good shot. They seem to hobble off, never to be found again. :(

I have not hunted turkeys until this year and I used a turkey choke ;) . If I ever happen to bowhunt turkeys I will likely use a muzzy phantom.

I wounder if the Maguns warranty applies to the Bullhead as well. I'll have to e-mail them and see.

Edit: I already received an e-mail back from Magnus and they said the lifetime warranty applies to the bullhead as well. So if it does get damaged they will send you a new one for free.

I tried and I did not like them. I went back to Grizz Tricks on Turkeys, which is my deer setup.

    No Problems! :)

After testing them, I'll never go back for bowhunting turkeys....Good shot or not, I've lost too many turkeys to seemingly deadly body shots never to be found again.

Its either bullheads or hevi shot for turkeys from here on out.

Yeah but you "Don't like turkeys".......... :p :D

That has been my experience as well. Not sure what I am going to do in spring next year. I know when I try and take a turkey this fall it will be with a bow when I am deer hunting and a turkey decides to walk at the wrong place at the wrong time.
