While you are at it, just insulate the whole bathroom! I insulated my bathrooms and master bedrooms walls. It is nice not having to hear my wife in the master bathroom running the shower, brushing teeth etc.

It also really cuts down on the sound of hair dryers etc. For the small expense, it is a very nice finish product cutting down noise.

    Unrelated to the bathroom.....

I'm going to be doing some cultured stone on a chimney this summer (I guess). It's cement block. Maybe a dumb question but will I still need any type of backing or a scratch coat or just slap it on the block?

I wish you the best of luck !!! I still have nightmares from when I did ours. Replaced part of the floor from old water damage. The bottom of our upstairs stairway runs through the one corner so I had to fight around that with the drywall, shower surround and plumbing for the shower. Nothing was square in the room.

What's this week crap you guys are spouting ?? We only have one bathroom so the wife demanded it had to be functional by Saturday night. I started Friday night after work.

By the time I had everything gutted and was staring into the basement Friday night... I knew it was going to be a sleepless weekend from hell. I wished I could have taken a picture of the wife's face... the first time she looked down into the basement through the big hole in the floor.

If I could finish rooms without inside corners I wouldn't mind it that much:p. Not sure such a room exists though.
