Jes - why isn't crawling in and out of the stand an option for a chick? That's what my wife does. She mostly hunts from ladder stands and ground blind, so crawling out or down, digging a hole, then covering it up isn't that big a deal if you really have to go. We won't look. Honest!
I actually peed in a scrape this year because a lot of guys on AT said it works and I came back a couple of days later and it was tore up! I say let it fly, why have a kidney burst?
I take a bottle i dont want to take any chances with the deer smelling whatever. i try to poo in the mourings before i leave to go out. But it has happened a few times thou, you climb down and you go as far as you can and take some TP with you and cover it up with leaves and whatever you can. i like the digging a hole thing. i took my daughter out this year but we didnt run into any problem with that. something to think of for next year thou.......
I used to be that guy that pissed in bottles for years b/c I thought urine would allow the deer to smell me. However, the last few years I just let er rip and have seen no ill effects.
One time I took a leak 40 yards or so from my stand about 10 years or so ago. Not long after a nice 3.5 year old (mid 120's buck) caught wind of my pee and walked on over to the spot. He didn't stick around too long, he flew out of there. Whether It was my foot prints he smelled or the pee he was gone In a flash. I look at It like this- It's not going to hurt your hunting not peeing In the woods. Peeing In the woods? Who knows I guess.
I could tell you some stories about myself and close friends, but that is best told by a campfire and not typed on the internet :-) A man will do what he has to do! ;-) Dan
I don't think I've ever had to go on a hunt. Of course, the night before a hunt I keep the eating and drinking to a minimum and "evacuate" before I leave the house in the morning. It's not that I won't go off the stand, but I've just never had to. I used to install cable and using the customer's toilet was a no-no so it worked great for hunting.
