So ever since I started getting into bow hunting I have been told and read everwhere that says when you sight your pins in to put the pin where you want to hit. At the end of last season I started playing around and moved my pins just to the right of where I want to hit. This way I can see the point where I want to hit and its not being covered up. Its been working very well for me (at least with target shooting.) I use a multi-pin sight obviously. Just wondering if anyone else does anything like this and how well its working if so, or do most just put the pin on target?
If you can repeat what you are doing so you shoot consistently I wouldn't care if where you place your pin. All that matters is hitting where you want to hit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't watch my pin. I focus on my target and let the pin float over it. Do whatever works for you and gives you the best results. Of course nothing works if you've picked the wrong pin in the first place. Been there, done that, will probably do it again...
I have done both. I was shooting to where my pin was just under the target, then another time just right of the target as you explained. I did go back to covering the target up but the only thing that matters is how you like it... If that is comfortable, keep going with it. I did just purchase another hogg it 5 pin and the bottom 3 pins are .010. I think I will like it a little better for further shots. I'll post something later next year when I get it rigged up on my back-up bow. Might put it on this year, I need to put a new string on first though.
