    1. Good genes-6.5
    2. plenty of deer-9 (not sure on the out of whack buck-doe ratio, however)
    3. low pressure (bow season)-9 (from hunters) 5 (Non-hunting)
    4. deer actually walk in the day light -6
    5. easy to hunt and access- 5

Although my tract is small (90 acres) and private, the access to the spots that SHOULD be hunted make this difficult. Most areas where I've keyed in on good bedding areas, there is NO way I can either get in or get out without ruining for good. Add in the factor that we have a way out of whack buck-doe ratio, and many neighbors use our land for walking/recreational use during the off season, it's tough.

My area is our little property in Ohio County, Indiana. (SE part of the state). <20 acres

    1. Good genes----9
    2. plenty of deer---9
    3. low pressure (bow season)----7
    4. deer actually walk in the day light----8
    5. easy to hunt and access----7 (still trying to figure out a better exit route for evening hunts in a certain spot at the bottom of the property)

My other area is a small property in SW Ohio, only a 15 minute drive from my house. I can not rank anything from here (except for what I have on trail cams) because this fall will be my first time ever deer hunting it. It is an awesome turkey spot though.

My reasoning for the scores...good genes, bucks can get old too, not the best feed, tough winters, pressure isnt terrible but elk hunters really pound the brush in archery season, deer density isnt very high, Huge forest mountainous lands, brush, thick timber and rugged country, lots of noise dry debris and as fickle of winds as you will ever encounter for bowhunting whitetails.

Short and simple answer: my area sucks. Don't know why anyone would hunt it.
