Personally, I have my backpack pre-packed and my clothes in a single Rubbermaid container and I just take them out when I park at the woods. I like to pack minimal but I also like to have everything I could possibly need with me just in case. How do you organize your gear?

If that doesn't make sense I see people on BHOD episodes with multiple containers pre-hunt. I'm just looking for the best way to have everything I will need with me, but keep it organized and minimal. Thanks ahead of time!

I carry a plastic tub with loose gear and my scent eliminator sprays in it in separate containers, things like a knife, spare flashlights, batteries, line mans belt, rattling horns, extra bow hangers, binos, TP, ect! I have a Watsons air loc bag I use to store heavier cloths, extra beanies and gloves. Then I store all my lighter cloths in a scent lock locker bag! and the one remaining spot in my Jeep is for my pack that I carry my camera in, epic cams, face paint :), saw, range finder, grunt call, hot shot sprays, weather cover for cam, fluid head and cam arm. I also like to put my camo on when I arrive at spot.

I do it exactly the same as you described. My hunt tomorrow will include a decoy so that got packed this afternoon. If I'm doing a morning sit the only thing I don't do in advance is shower & make coffee.

I have two duffels...one for bow season and one for gun season. They contain "special needs" items like rain gear, Ghillie, extra flashlights, batteries, tracking light, rattling horns, tools, spare parts, extra ammo, whatever. Each one contains items specific to bowhunting or gunhunting. I also have a backpack I use when hunting from fixed stands that has everything I need while on the stand and for a simple recovery of a kill. If recovery turns complicated I go to the truck and get what I need from the duffel. When hunting from my climber I transfer the backpack contents to the side bags on my climber. I'm about ready to just buy two of everything so I don't have to transfer stuff back and forth. The appropriate duffel, backpack, bow (in a hard case), climber, etc, stays in my truck through the season. I have a locking hard bed cover on my truck. My rifle stays in the safe between hunts.

I do this because I would forget my head if it wasn't glued on good! The duffels are different so I can immediately recognize which one I have.

Mostly I have my backpack everything goes in. My camo has it's own big tote. Nothing goes in the tote that's worn. The tote is full of the hunter specialties fresh earth dryer sheets. Those work great.

Other than that, I go through a lot of rubber bands. All my hang-on strap, linesman rope, and pull ropes are all rubber banded and put in a bag. When I get to the tree I pull the bag out, and everything is separate and no knots, that's important to getting the hunt started off right.

Lastly, the night before I just go through my bag and make sure everything is there and ready. Nothing too crazy.

First day of season everything is perfectly organized in totes and backpacks. At this point in the season is is randomly thrown in the truck.

Two sealed totes. One has my baselayers, loose accessories (grunt, headlamp, can, rattle antlers, extra spray, tree umbrella, etc.,). Second has mid and outerlayers, hats, and gloves. Harness gets put on top of the tote, socks stay in the top (hanging over) my boots). All of this is stored in the bed of my truck (have a Bestop Camper Top). Also keep a thin area rug to lay out when changing in the field (hate wet feet :D ).

To me it all depends on where i'm going. If i'm hunting private land i need less things because my stands are already hung and safety rope in the tree. If i'm hunting public land and i need to take my stand with me, i'll pack all stuff in a back pack and my clothes in rubbermaid tote.

I use one of the scent control bags for storing gear then put that in a Rubbermaid container. Best way to go.

I am pretty anal about how I pack. I have a tub will all my gear for the hunt loaded in my truck at all times. But where it gets crazy is how I pack my backpack. I have a ScentBlocker pack with specific pockets for certain gear. For example the top pouch has everything I HAVE to have to hunt: Rangefinder, haul-up rope, safety strap, headlamp, and release. On the inside, I organize based on the order I will take it out of the pack.

In my tote, I have everything in ziplock backs to eliminate scent and to organize it all. Extra tree straps, scents, and other accessories have their own bag.

Clothing is organized the same way except not in zip locks. I store everything in the order I will put the clothes on. Baselayer goes on top and then work my way down the ScentBlocker waterproof bag.

Boots are stored in another scent-free bag. And then everything fits in the tote. That way no matter what I have everything in one tote in the back of the truck.

Still think I could improve on the process as I still think I take too much to the tree.

I have my scent lock early season gear in a scentlock back. All of the other stuff is in spacesaver bags and are in a tub, got another tub with my backpack and saftey harness and seats for my stands. Dress in the field and spray down and then after the hunt spray everything down as I put it away. All spacesaver bags get sealed and vacumned out when I get home
